The concert will take place in F-117 of the Music Building. Valerie Hartzell will perform her own arrangements of the Beatles, Joe Harnell (Hulk theme), & Monkees. She will also perform music by Led Zeppelin, Lauro, Tarrega, Barrios, Albeniz, Olga Amelkina-Vera (Collin College guitar professor) and Dyens. She will be joined by Eastfield guitar professor, Eddie Healy on one of his own compositions, "Marching Ever Onward" written in 2010.

"Classical Minds" Guitar Festival Preview Concert

St Philip Presbyterian Church - Choir Room, 4807 San Felipe, Houston TX 77056

Preview concert will feature two of the festival faculty: Valérie Hartzell, CM Artistic Director and international classical concert guitarist and recording artist; and Jeremy Garcia, flamenco and classical performance artist and Professor of Guitar Studies at San Jacinto College. Tickets: $10 children/students; $15 senior citizens; $20 general public. St Philip Presbyterian Church is located in the Galleria area between Post Oak Blvd & Loop 610. Programme will include Professor Garcia's own compositions and works by Paco de Lucia, Gypsy Kings and Sabicas. Hartzell will perform music by Lauro, Albeniz, Barrios and Dyens. She will also perform her own arrangements of Beatles and Monkees as well as give the United States premier of a work by Manchester composer Chris Dumigan. All proceeds of the concert will go to the education and scholarship funds of the festival which will be held June 14-18, 2016 at Episcopal High School.
